The following actions will cause interruption to network traffic. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of possible disruptions and the severity or length of the disruption is dependent on configuration.
Major Disruptions
The following actions can interrupt all traffic passing through the Ecessa device
- Clicking 'Activate' on the LAN page
- Adding, modifying, or deleting a WAN
- Clicking 'Activate' on the Services->Ethernet Ports page
- Importing or restoring a configuration file
- Enabling or disabling Hardware Failover
- Adding, modifying, or deleting bridges in the CLI
- Adding, modifying, or deleting a bond in the CLI
- Modifying ports with the system port command in the CLI
Feature Disruptions
The following actions can interrupt traffic related to the feature being changed
- Clicking 'Activate' with a VPN configuration
- Clicking 'Activate' on the WAN Virtualization page
- Adding, modifying, or deleting QoS links
- Clicking 'Activate' within a WAN Virtualization site configuration
- Clicking 'Activate' on the Static Routes page
- Clicking 'Activate' on the Authoritative DNS page
- Clicking 'Activate' on the Firewall page
- Clicking 'Activate' on the Aliases page will affect any feature that uses aliases
Minor Disruptions
- Clicking 'Activate' on the Port Forwarding page
- Clicking 'Activate' on the One-to-One NAT page
- Clicking 'Activate' on the Next Hop Routes page
