How do I manage user accounts?

Changing the Default Password and Managing Accounts

In the upper right corner of the WebGUI page, click on User Accounts. There are three accounts used for access to the Ecessa unit.

The root and the admin accounts are used for management and have access to change the configuration of the Ecessa. The usernames of these accounts cannot be changed, but it is highly recommended that the passwords are changed.

The third is the user account. This account provides read-only access to the configuration of the Ecessa. Both the username and the password for this account can be changed.

Firmware versions 9.1 And Newer

The rootadmin, and user accounts can not be removed but can be disabled.  The Add button will allow the creation of new usernames.  Please note that downgrading to 9.0 or previous versions will remove all custom accounts and only the root user will remain enabled.

Click Activate at the bottom of the page to save changes made to the User Accounts page when finished.

Firmware Versions 9.0 And Previous

When logged into the device as either root or admin, type a new password for the appropriate user account and then confirm the new password. Click Activate to save the changes.
